What are they?

A group of orb web-making spiders, most species of which tend to be found in wetland habitats, but some are also woodland species. Wetland species habitually rest on the underside of grass leaves, making themselves inconspicuous by stretching their legs out in line with the body in a distinctive fashion.

Identification

A rather mixed bunch, but generally slender spiders with spindly legs and usually narrow, elongated bodies. Abdomen patterns are variable but generally can be used to identify species.
