The Lappet Moths
What are they?
This is a family of rather chunky, very hairy moths, the males bearing large, feathery antennae. The larvae may be brightly-colored and live in communal 'tents', or remarkably cryptic-colored and solitary. All are very hairy.
Identification
The Lasiocampidae is a fairly small family with the species being straightforward to identify on wing markings.
