What are they?

Snouts are cryptically-colored, small to medium-sized moths which hide easily amongst leaf litter on the forest floor or on tree trunks. They get their name from the large palps which stand out in front of the face.

Identification

A small group in our region and readily identifiable by wing markings - though background color can be very variable in some species.
