Cosmets

Perimede ricina

What are they?

Tiny moths that generally have rather narrow wings with relatively pointed tips. The palps at the front of the head tend to be rather long and curved, like handlebars on a racing bicycle. Larvae are small and may be found as leaf-miners, or stem or seedhead borers.

Identification

Many species are small, requiring a hand lens for identification. Many species are distinctive and can be identified by wing markings alone.
