The Coleophorids

Acorn Moth

What are they?

A group of small, mostly narrow-winged, micro-moths which are common in a wide range of habitats.

Identification

A difficult group to identify, with many species best identified by their larvae, which construct often quite distinctive, protective cases. These cases earn them the name of Pistol Case Bearers.
