Metalmark Moths
What are they?
The Metalmark Moths are rather small moths with broadly triangular wings. They are often active during the day but will also occasionally come to light at night. Many species have glittering, metallic marks on the forewings.
Identification
Wing shape for this group is quite distinctive once learned. Differentiating the species is relatively easy, based on wing markings, on fresh specimens, but worn specimens are sometimes impossible as wing shape and size is pretty constant across the species.
