What are they?

This family consists largely of tropical or subtropical trees and shrubs so few species are found in our area and none are native here. The family is probably best known for the edible citrus fruits - Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime etc. but also includes some ornamental flowering shrubs and herbs.

Where are they found?

Plants in this family are not native in Cape May so are only likely to be found as relics of old plantings or as garden throw-outs on roadsides, old hedgelines or waste places.
